No. 7 960/60/10 of the 26th February, I am directed

by Lecretary Sir John Simon to inform you that the

Counsellor to the French cmbassy called again on the

2nd March in regard to the export of arms to China.

A copy of the memorandum which M. Cambon left is

enclosed for the information of the Board of Trade.

M. Jambon was promised a reply in the

matter at an early date. Eir Jonn 2imon would,

therefore, be glad if the board could see their say

to expedite their reply to the Foreign Office letter*

under reference.

A copy of this letter is being sent to the

Admiralty, War office, Air Ministry, Colonial Office

and Lepsrtment of Overseas Trade.
